The headquarters for Opera Conference 2018 is the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch, located at 315 Chestnut Street in St. Louis. Nearly all conference sessions and activities take place in or near the Hyatt, which is also within walking distance of many popular attractions.

Rooms at the Hyatt Regency are currently sold out. However, rooms are available for conference attendees at the nearby Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis at the special rate of $179 per night. This rate expires on June 8, 2018. Book your room now.

Attendees wishing to see Opera Theatre of Saint Louis’ Center Stage performance on Tuesday, June 19 should plan to arrive by Tuesday afternoon. The first conference session is the New Works Forum on Wednesday, June 20 at 1:00 p.m., immediately followed by the Women’s Opera Network meeting. The Opening Session takes place the following morning, Thursday, June 21 at 9:00 a.m.

The closing session ends on Saturday, June 23 at approximately 5:00 p.m. Attendees may also choose to stay for the evening performance of La traviata, which begins at 8:00 p.m. and marks Patricia Racette’s debut as a stage director.

Registration rates expire at 11:59 p.m. EDT on the following dates:
Online registration closes on June 14 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. After that date, attendees may only register on-site at the conference hotel.

All four days of conference sessions, including the New Works Forum and Women’s Opera Network convening, as well as the Host Company Reception and Sponsor Reception, are included in the registration fee. Staff and trustees of Professional Company Members are also eligible to attend two roundtable sessions; concurrent programming for all other conference attendees will be offered.

The following items can be added to your registration for an additional fee at the time of registration or at any point through June 14.

  • Network Dinners ($45, cash bar)

  • Under 35 Mixer ($35)

  • Guest Ticket: Host Company Reception ($15)
    For conference attendees wishing to bring a guest to the reception.

  • New General Directors Roundtable ($100)
    By invitation only.

OTSL performance tickets may be purchased directly from Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. Conference attendees receive a 10% discount for ticket packages of three performances and a 15% discount for packages of four or more performances.

Opera Conference 2018 is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language or imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue or event. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund, at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Through April 9, registrations are refundable (minus a $100 per person cancellation fee). From April 10 through June 14, registration fees are 50% refundable. Registrations may be transferred to another attendee at no charge. To transfer your registration, please edit the full name and e-mail address of the attendee via Eventbrite. This will ensure the new attendee receives all communications regarding attendance and will be able to check in at the conference.

Network tags will be added to session content as it develops. These tags are only suggestions, however; you are welcome to attend any conference session, with the following exceptions:

  • Roundtables are open only to staff and trustees at OPERA America’s Professional Company Members. During these two session slots, concurrent programming will be offered for other attendees.

  • New General Directors Roundtables are by invitation only and require an additional fee ($100).

  • Leadership Intensive is available only to participants in the Leadership Intensive program.

Yes, there is content planned specifically for opera company trustees, although you are welcome to attend other sessions, as well.

Trustees and board members may register for the conference at the member rates. You may coordinate registration with your opera company for team pricing.

Yes, shuttle service will be offered between the Hyatt and OTSL for evening performances on June 19–23. Alternately, you may choose to utilize Uber for your transportation needs.

Yes, guests are welcome to attend the Sponsor Reception at no charge, and guest tickets for the Host Company Reception are available for purchase ($15).

Guests may also attend OTSL performances; please purchase performance tickets accordingly.
